Lawn

Bermuda & St. Augustine:
Decrease water, to 1-2x per week. A total of 1 inch per week should be applied. -
Fescue:
Water fescue 2-3x per week. A total of 1.5 inches per week should be applied.
Raise mower to 3.5-4 inches tall.

Trees & Plants
- Wrap large, newly planted palms that are borderline hardy for the first 2 years. (Ex. California and especially Mexican fan palms.)
- This is one of the best time of the year for planting shrubs and especially trees
- Buy trees and plant now!

Flowers
- Winter color can be planted, like pansies, cabbage, kale and stock.
- Spring and summer flowering bulbs and perennials can be divided.
- Buy your spring flowering bulbs now so you can chill and plant after November.

Garden
- Sow Elbon rye to rid any nematodes and to add nutrient to the soil.
- Use organic fertilizers like Fox Farm on a monthly basis.
- This is a good time to begin a compost pile, or add to an existing one that is started.
